It's hard to believe that these NBA Live 2008 images are actual production screenshots. Unlike the somewhat creepy humans in Virtua Tennis 3, the texture and modelling work in next-gen EA sports games continue to push the graphics envelope down our throats and into our helpless wallets. Look at the eyeballs! The teeth! The jersey! The suicide marks on the wrist!Soon, we won't be discussing these things with words like "next gen" and "1080p". No, we will require new metrics that more granularly let graphic snobs discuss how many large veins are clearly visible in a given frame and what the specular-sweat-to-glisten ratio is on their player's foreheads.
